Home-made crunchie ice cream

With Christmas fast approaching and with indulgence and over-eating very much part of the holiday, I made one of my favourite desserts — Crunchie Ice Cream. This is a bit of an off-topic post!

It’s a very simple recipe and only takes a few minutes to knock up and the end result is delicious.

Ingredients

  • 600ml double cream
  • ~350ml condensed milk (a whole tin)
  • 6 Cadbury Crunchie Bars
  • 2tsp of vanilla extract

Method

  1. Chop up the Crunchie bars into small pieces. While doing this, keep hold of as much of the “dust” as possible.

  2. Whip the double cream until it is the thickness of a thickish custard.

  3. Fold in the condensed milk.

  4. Add the chopped up Crunchie bars.

  5. Place the contents in a container and place in the freezer until frozen hard.

  6. Enjoy.
